Workshop

Founded in 2012, Fathers Building Futures (FBF) is an Albuquerque-based social enterprise committed to empowering formerly incarcerated fathers to rebuild their lives. Led by professionals and peer mentors with lived experience, we provide reentry support that begins while clients are still incarcerated.

Upon release, Fathers Building Futures offers temporary paid job training, equipping fathers with hands-on skill-building and curriculum-based Employable Employee Training. Through its comprehensive training program, FBF prepares formally incarcerated fathers for employment while also strengthening their parenting and life skills—giving them the confidence to become role models and providers for their families.

In New Mexico, 1 in 10 children experience parental incarceration, making them seven times more likely to face the same fate. FBF is breaking this cycle by helping fathers transform into positive, engaged parents who can rewrite their family’s future.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, FBF has spent over a decade dedicated to second chances, with the ongoing support of funders, community partners, and collaborators. We remain committed to ensuring that every father returning home has the tools, guidance, and opportunity to build a brighter, more stable future.
